Preseco Biodiesel Processors for local biodiesel production

Biodiesel (FAME/RME) can be produced from all vegetable oils and nearly all animal oils. As a general rule, biodiesel should be used in similar or warmer conditions than those in which oil used as raw material originates. The frost resistance and smell of biodiesel depend on the raw material used. Biodiesel is clearly a more environmentally friendly and less polluting alternative to fossil diesel fuel.

While the chemistry behind producing biodiesel may be simple, the challenge lies in obtaining an end product of uniform quality. The oil used as a raw material, the amount of chemicals and even changes in the weather can influence the process and its outcome. Safety also places requirements on production. The process always generates some poisonous gases and highly inflammable and explosive compounds, and this is where experts are needed.
